Perfect Choice For

This lesson is for you if you already feel confident with the basics — you can stand up automatically, catch small waves on your own, distinguish between right and left waves, and ride them. You’re familiar with fundamental surf etiquette and have some understanding of positioning and surfing conditions.
A great option if you’re an advanced surfer new to the Algarve and want surf guiding from an experienced local surfer. It’s also ideal for improving maneuvers you’re struggling with and training them under professional guidance.

What You Will Learn

You’ll develop a deeper understanding of Portugal’s waves and surf spots, learn how to paddle out efficiently, and master positioning and timing. With your instructor right beside you, you’ll receive direct corrections and clear explanations that help you progress faster and surf with confidence.
You’ll gain deeper knowledge about Algarve surf spots, surf with an experienced local surfer, receive targeted technical feedback, and refine your maneuvers with expert guidance.

Meet Your Surf Coach

During this 2-hour session, you’ll paddle out with our main surf instructor, a professional surfer with over 35 years of surfing experience around the world.

He’ll share his personal knowledge, tips, and techniques right in the water — helping you refine your skills and surf more independently with confidence.

Lessons are held on both the South Coast and West Coast, depending on the day’s conditions, and can be booked as private or small-group sessions for maximum individual attention.

How Intermediate Lessons Work

1. Surf Check & Spot Selection

Your instructor chooses the best surf spot of the day between the South and West Coast based on wave size, wind, and your skills.

2. On-Land Preparation

Before paddling out, you’ll go through a short briefing on the surf conditions of the day and the exact spot, positioning on the line-up, and goals for the session.

3. Paddle Out & Live Coaching in the Water

You will paddle out with our main surf instructor, who gives real-time feedback on your surfing skills, positioning, timing, and maneuver execution.

4. Feedback & Progress Plan

After the session, you receive personalized tips on what to practice next and how to continue improving independently.
