6. Kitesurfing

Lagos is also a fantastic kitesurfing destination. In particular, the most renowned spot for kitesurfing in Lagos is Ria de Alvor, a lagoon located between Alvor and Lagos, approximately 15 km from Lagos by car. Certainly, with consistent winds during the summer, the lagoon is considered a perfect summer kitesurfing spot in the Algarve. Similarly, another popular location for kitesurfing is Meia Praia Beach, which sees more activity from kitesurfers during the winter months, thanks to the more frequent south winds.


7. Hiking

For enthusiasts of long walks with panoramic views, Lagos offers a plethora of hiking opportunities. Undoubtedly, one of the most famous routes starts from Praia do Pinhão, crosses Ponta de Piedade, and finishes at Praia de Porto de Mos. During this extended walk, you will be impressed by small, beautiful bays and beaches such as Praia de Dona Ana, Praia do Camilo, and Ponta de Piedade, renowned for their rock formations, cliffs, and natural arches in the ocean.

The second amazing route begins at Praia de Porto de Mos and ends in Praia da Luz, a small beautiful village close to Lagos. Just like the Ponta de Piedade route, This is an incredibly scenic route along the rocky coastline with stunning views of the ocean and intricately formed coves.

If you really liked those two trips, think about trying another one that starts in Praia da Luz and ends in Burgau. Definitely, it's like an extra dose of amazing coastal views by the ocean.

A helpful tip: we highly recommend making these trips early in the morning or during sunset, as the midday sun can make the excursions quite exhausting due to strong sun exposure.
